How I Got Here
My passion for writing began when I first picked up a book about the Second World War in the 5th grade. That interest evolved into a passion for studying history, and in 2016 I began my academic university career at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario. In the spring of 2020 I graduated with an honours B.A in history and a minor in Canadian studies. In the fall of 2022 I accepted an offer to complete my Masters in history at Royal Holloway University of London in the United Kingdom.
My historical research passion has always been focused on the Second World War, researching the topic to better understand the human aspect of this global conflict. I was fortunate enough to meet and volunteer with The Canadian Research and Mapping Company in my third year of my undergraduate whom at the time were beginning a massive project. Their goal was to make an interactive map visualizing every Canadian army unit's day-day movement during the Normandy campaign in 1944. This opportunity helped me better my researching and writing skills and allowed for hands on experience at the Library and Archives Canada in Ottawa looking through and digitalizing war diaries.
I hope to keep building on my research and writing skills so I can provide well written and informative work to help other people learn and critically analyze new and old topics.
